Usually when I do the post for Observation of the Week I illustrate someone I see dressed effectively, on the bus, at a store, etc. but for the past few months I’ve been battling life on various fronts and haven’t gone out much. So I’ve decided to expand my observations to include styles worn on my sartorial journey and those who’ve influenced me. I will include favorite outfits, as well as trends, I’ve followed and icons I’ve emulated. I hope this expanded feature will inspire you and also help you chart your own journey

The first teacher I had at AAU told the class if you want to be a good writer you should free write about five minutes a day. I don’t know how many small books I’ve filled since then, but I know it’s definitely helped my writing improve. Below is a prompted entry that I wrote today.:
What can you do to set yourself up for success today?
What I can do to set myself up for success today is complete my tasks for my daily blog posts on Instagram, Facebook, Lookin’ Good, Feelin’ Good and Every Day Fashion: Style for the Mainstream.
My Fashion Inspi today is writing, which includes writing implements, my journal and books.
I still would love to teach students in LAUSD how to express themselves through writing, but for right now that’s a dream deferred.

I have always loved Converse sneakers, even though some people think you’re too old school and newer brands should replace them in my wardrobe.
At times, while I have bought, worn and loved Nikes, Tretorns, Reeboks, Jack Purcells, Keds and others Converse still reign supreme in my heart.
Now that it’s summer, and clothes and accessories are lightening up, I’ve been on the hunt for breezier shades to accompany my long white skirt, white eyelet dress, and beige walking shorts.
Elegant, sturdy, classic, and eternally street chic the low-top Converse Chuck 70 0x Canvas sneakers in parchment for $80, that I saw on ASOS.com (https://asos.com) really checked the right sartorial box for this Friday’s Fashion Find and became a hopeful purchase for the future
